So far this month has been very busy. There has been a lot of in-house development going on along with several new clients, including one high-profile North American magazine.
First on the list was the final branding of Mizar Photos for Utah-based Photographer Brandon Mizar.
The goal of the new logo was to provide an elegant and sophisticated look while establishing a memorable image. I’m very happy with how the final design turned out, as was the client. The logo was reproduced on business cards and as a large banner for a recent wedding show the client was attending.
This month I also want to introduce the local online magazine project that Logix is developing. Soon to find a home at chathamkent.com, the new magazine will be called Powerhouse. As mentioned previously, it will be a local business magazine featuring new and established businesses in Chatham-Kent. It will also offer advice and be a way for businesses to communicate to each other.
Here is the first look at the initial concept of Powerhouse Magazine. It is currently still in development, but this is a first look at the design concept. Currently the magazine is being developed with three main sections, Feature, Focus, and Discussions. The Feature section will identify a local business and include a company bio, general overview, interview with owner and contact details.
Each issue will have a focus on a specific topic of interest to local Chatham-Kent entreprenuers. The Focus column will go in-depth to identify the topic and fully cover it. It could be ideas on bringing in new business, how to start a business, marketing, or any other ideas of interest at the current time.
The Discussions column is going hopefully be an evolving section that will bring business people to discuss a certain topic, brainstorm ideas and offer advice. Each topic will differ and the objective will always be different. Ultimately we would like to pull together some great business minds in Chatham-Kent to discuss and debate topics.
The official launch date hasn’t been determined yet, but articles are currently in planning and the site structure is being programmed as I post this, so keep checking back for updates.
Another recent project that has been launched is the Ontario Sportsman’s Journal. OSJ is an online magazine for the Ontario outdoors enthusiast. Its purpose is to provide relevant articles and resources for hunters and fishermen.
The OSJ website is built off the Joomla content management system with several customizations to meet the client’s needs. Logix was contracted as the development company to set up and program the site in coordination with JAG Marketing who designed the overall image of the site.
Although the website just launched recently it has managed to obtain a strong readership and logged just over 48,000 hits for January and has already reached 50,000 for February as of the 19th.
And what about the new Logix website you ask? Well that one is still under wraps for now while we finalize some branding decisions. So for now we’ll leave it at coming soon…
Hey buddy, good to see you are keeping busy … I’m keen to see the new logix site … sneaky peaky for me, your old buddy, pal, friend, mate
I’m anxious to get it out there. It’s still in early stages so as soon as I have something I can show I’ll let you know.
